Supporting the stir launched by the All Manipur Joint Government Higher Secondary Students' Union, the Manipuri Students Federation boycotting all Government and private schools from today.
All educational establishments remained closed for the day.
Students of Kebol Girls' High School staged a sit-in-protest supporting the moves launched by the student organizations.
Following the class boycott given by the MSF all educational establishments remained shut.
Students who had gone to their respective schools had to return home.
Students of Kebol Girls' High School staged a sit-in-protest in front of their school from 12 noon till 3 pm in a show of solidarity with the student organizations.
Mention may be made here that two students were injured yesterday in police lathi charge during a protest staged by the All Manipur Higher Secondary Students' Union yesterday.
Another student was injured when he fell down from a vehicle yesterday.
The office and staff rooms of Tamphasana Girls Higher Secondary has been locked up from today and will remain locked till the striking teachers call off their agitation and resume their duties of educating the students, said a press release of the Students Union of the School.
The teachers have also been denied entry of names in the attendance register.
Posters airing the students� grievances and demands have also been put up at the school gate, the release added.
Meanwhile, All India Students' Federation, Manipur State Council has sealed the Mem Higher Secondary School, Ghari for not complying with its call to cancel classes today as part of the agitation against the prolonged closure of educational establishments.
All Manipur Students' Union has fervently appealed to the striking teachers to reconsider the ongoing cease work strike for the welfare of the student community and resort to other form of agitations.
In the meantime, AISF Imphal West District Council has appealed to the striking teachers to resume their duties in the general interest of the students.
